Is it possible to stop the air pressure sensors (I assume it has them) in a D2? If someone stays in the car the alarm goes off if it's locked with remote. Can this be de-activated somehow? Ideally with the option to have them working sometimes

How else could you leave your dogs in it on the ferry?
I think it's in the manual, if you are lucky enough to have one!
You do still need to unlock with the fob though.:eek::confused:;)
 
well, an update...

oil leak - badly fitted oil filter by guy i bought it from who rushed a service. nice relief that.

"slow" (yes, even for a disco!) - unplugged MAF, WOW!! Way better. Bought new genuine meter and fitted that, not tested yet but that's solved one issue. It's still 'gutless' below 2k revs and not great above that either, but it's not TOTALLY gutless now (it was before). Landy guy i know (30 years working on them) drove it the other day (i wanted his opinion of its performance) and he said "somethin wrong here". said it was slowest he had ever driven and obviously something wrong. So the maf is sorted. I am now moving to service, checks, and all basic improvements i can make on the cheap, then underseal it (naked now), and then IF i have the money i MAY consider trying out a variable vein turbo. APparently they make a world of difference at low revs, which is where I like to drive. I doubt i can afford it but if i do, i will pass comment :)

I really, really, really would put some clothes on before doing undersealing. It tends to get everywhere, even if the neighbours cannot see you!:D:D:D:D:D

Planning on getting a kit from Bilt Hamber. Not looking forward to it but something needs doing if she is gonna last long down here near the sea spray!

In answer to your original post, yes it is possible to turn off the volumetric sensors, but you need a Nanocom or similar to do it. Not sure about the other devices, but Nanocom definitely can.

Also in relation to your lack of power, again you would be best to find someone with a Nanocom and get it plugged in to check faults and readings, rather than just guess what is wrong and end up throwing money at it. Visual checks should include all the turbo hoses, as they delaminate internally, all the small tubes connected to the wastegate and its modulator, as they get holes in, the wastegate itself as they stick and need to be free'd up. Clean carefully all the sensors, airbox, (although you don't say whether it is a 10P or 15P lump), IAP on inlet manifold and the MAF, although it sounds like you need a new one anyway. Buy ONLY a genuine VDO or LandRover one, the others will not work correctly, it is possible to get them from Duckworth's with discount. Hope that helps.
