You will need to remove the top of the dash and all the gubbins underneath.
The motor is accessed through a flap on the top of the heater box....
I am sure I have some photos somewhere of the unit out of the car which will give you an idea of location etc....I will dig them out.
By chance, why do you need to replace the motor...if it isn't working, this can also be the Final Stage Resistor....much easier to change!
As Saint says, you need to remove the top of the dash.
I had to change mine a couple of years back as it wAs making nasty squeaking noises.
I went down the easy path and I 'cut' an access hole in the top (there was a very good online guide somewhere). But once all back together you wouldn't know as the leather top covers it.
Makes the job ALOT easier and quicker.

Thanks Saint.V8.
my motor started whining and then ceased up. I tried cutting it out under dash. i succeeded in taking out the old one breaking parts of the cage in the process. but square peg in round hole when it came to fitting new one. plenty of hand cuts but no joy. so i have decided to try it the right way. if you have a step by step that would be greatly appreciated.
And robhew86 thanks for info but how the heck did you get the new unit in? you cant have left much plastic under there.
