My partner read all your messages last night, and I'm glad to say he's got some of his passion back and he's decided to keep her.
I'd just like to say thank you to you all for taking the time to answer my question it was greatly appreciated. X
When to we get more pics??? :D

Yes. The right pics of the chassis are what is needed. Chassis and bulkhead rust are what determines the value of a Ninety.

Mind you, looks enough bling on that to make the money selling the bits on ebay! :D

.....to tell someone they overpaid like that is just rude....why would tell someone that unless they wanted to make that person feel bad...jealousy?

I have spent so much on my land rovers, I daren't add it all up....but this is the last vehicle I will need so frankly it doesn't matter in the long run I will finish on top esp now they have finished production

Chassis and bulk head photos are coming x

Love the look of those seats..... Looks in good nick and looks to have had a total bodyshell respray!

Awesome sauce.....

Wow looks good!! Chassis's can easily be repaired, but how does the engine bay look? If the engine conversion was done well, and is neat and tidy, id say you've got a bloody good deal!!! :)

We got told she had a full body respray less than a year before we bought her, its a beautiful colour but the other thing that concerns me about it is if we ever have to replace the doors ect we will be able to get them resprayed to that colour too?

My ex wife cost me nearly 400K and she had done lots of miles, needed a respray, clunked a lot, no chance of starting, was poor when wet and debreciated yearly at an amazing rate, was bald at the front, needed a decoke, rough interior and plenty of owners!!

Now I have a Td5 defender, a much better ride and who really cares how much it cost me.

We enter the World with nothing and we leave the same way so why worry what other "so called experts" say. If your happy just tell them to fo Fook themselves and get dirty!!

Hi all I am the worst half of Lenni lol. I have been working on her today and she is looking better now. Just a quick question for everyone can you place a new dash in an old defender as that is one of the projects that I will have to do to her, any ideas are welcome. Thanks James

when you say dash, do you mean the intsrument binacle or the bit that runs all the way from left to right on the top, with the vents?
raptor eng do a steel replacement dash binnacle, i have one and everyone who has fitted one will agree its a fantastic product, btw your center console is a raptor product.
if its the dash top you need to replace, try flocking. look it up. its a process where very fine fibers are glued to give a kind of suede finnish
if you mean the whole dash for a later td5/tdci dash, its possible but a right balls ache.
search on here where its been done

My mate has just finished his 2nd td5 dash into tdi model he reckons they are very nice but as said above pita to wire up.

Why do you 'have' to change it?
What's up with the dash that's in it?

Looks a nice Defender.
You did well to get a good TD5 for £6,000 at the moment.
We spent ages looking and eventually paid THIRTEEN thousand for a nice 2003 Defender 90 CSW.
We looked at about ten before buying "Eric" from a local Indy, some of the ones we saw for £5-7000 looked like they'd been dragged out of a lake.

Looks clean and tidy from the front. If the underneath is in good condition and it runs well I would say you have a bargain, plus a winch which are also worth a few bob. I know some one who is selling a 90,300 tdi which has had a lot of work done on it but the paint work doesn't look so tidy, and they are asking ten grand. I don't see the point of selling it.
I wouldn't listen to random strangers. What qualifies them to know more about it? I was talking to a random stranger Yesterday ( Saturday afternoon) he claims he bought his Porsche for £35 thousand and claims its worth £80 thousand. He claims the guy he bought it off didn't know its value. What a load of crap. Enjoy it.

I thought it was tdi?

putting in either of the later dashes just makes it look like your driving a ford focus on stilts from the cab .... it also makes it undrivable for me at 6ft 4. I kept original dash and fitted series 2 piece doors with no door cards to give me room to swing a cat..... if its a new defender you want you be best getting a new defender although i guess its already non original with the engine swap and paint job

Ours, or the O/P?

We bought a 300tdi at the end of 2014 but sold it after six months and got a TD5.
Nothing wrong with the tdi, but the missus preferred the more refined TD5 CSW.

The OP but i forget why I asked now lol
