Hi everyone,

My Freelander TD4 sport premium passed its MOT today but with several advisories that need attending to in the not so distant future. It needs...

New radiator (current one leaking)
New front-rear brake pipes both nearside and offside
New rear diff seal
New rear diff mounting
New track rod ends

Can anyone recommend a good parts supplier? I've had a look on the internet and the genuine land rover parts are almost 3 times the cost of other aftermarket parts. Should I go with genuine or aftermarket.

Any and all advice appreciated!

Thanks

Depends on what you want in terms of quality, really.

Buy from Land Rover direct - Quality parts but cost a bomb.

Buy Land Rover Parts from a dealer - I find Brookwells (Land Rover Parts, Accessories and Spares From Brookwells) to be very helpful over the phone & often the part you want may not be listed online, but they may well have it in stock. They can also be cheaper than the dealer for genuine parts (not always & I've only ever bought for my old 1.9 Rover Diesel engine)

Aftermarket stuff can be variable, from what I've used. Not the best, but they do the job perfectly well.

Depends if you just want to keep the thing running on a budget or if you have the cash to spend on Rover parts & want to guarantee quality.

I run our Freelander on a budget diet of 2nd hand/scrapyard, eBay & Brookwells :D

Hope this helps.

LRSERIES.COM are a halpfull bunch and carry replacement as well as original parts so you get the choice on how much you want to spend )

Be very careful as some of the cheaper outfits like Island 4X4 stock Britpart rubbish which is best avoided. Always ask the supplier who the manufacturer of the parts are asyou can still save loads but buy good quality. A lot of very cheap ebay stuff is Britpart.
