Dont you have the black battery cover that goes over the battery and the engine management ECU?? :)

Ah indeed. What a genius idea. Red top it is then. Fingers crossed for vroom vroom on Saturday!

You boys are scaring me with all this r/f banter! It's a flat battery for pete's sake!:D

3 pages on such an irrelevant subject. Who'd a thought it!

:D i dont think its that irrelevant, especially if you end up being one of the unlucky P38 owners who ends up stranded with a flat battery because some local RF interference kept the BeCM awake.

I fitted the Red Top with a bit of a wrestle. The Positive Cable was short but with a reaarangement of cables and it worked. Only annoying thing is that the battery mount no longer fixes down, I'll have to modify it slightly.

This is more than made up for by the sheer power of this battery. My engine spins up with the ease of a motorbike engine. Result! Thanks for all your help.

Use a small block of wood between the clamp and the top of the battery & all will be fine.

Cheers,
Chris.
