When I picked up my Defender, there was a load of stuff in the back (spare seats, various bolts, spare seatbelts, etc). Amongst them, were these:

Anyone have any idea what they're for? The plate holes don't seem to line up with anything in the back, nor on the outside of the Landy.

Any ideas?

They look like something someone has had made up. They dont look strong enough to be used as a step or slider. Maybe a grab handle of some sort?

as above. these are used for side (bench) seats though so wont work with forward facing units if that is what you are fitting.

Yes, I'm looking to refit the individual side seats that face inwards.

I've googled for pictures of them installed, but can't seem to find one that shows these bars.

Thanks for everyone's help so far! :)

What little I can offer, is when I had my rear cross member replaced, the outer edge bolts went through the bottom end of the bracket. I.e. the bottem end of the bracket is bolted firmly to your rear cross member and is visible at the bottom or the rear arch behind the rear wheel.

At a guess the top bolts are near the central part of the rear cab, probably visible behind the covers to the rear lights and upper rear trim covers, from inside the rear of the vehicle.

Edit: Hmmm. Just had a look in the back of me CSW. Think I'm right about linking to the rear cross member, but I have tubular rail then running behind where the seats go, along the back top of the box section. The lap belts for the seats bolt onto this rail.
