Thanks!

If you're thinking of buying it think on a little ... It draws a reasonably high amps for the power available, so won't have a great duty cycle. If it's for the odd emergency then fine, but if you're likely to use it a lot, then you need to spend more, simple as! If you do go for it, get a swingaway shackle, a tree saver strop and a couple of minimum rated 3 1/2 ton shackles to connect .. ;)

I'm only using these links 'cos they're cheap and reasonable starter stuff .. The strop is only three metres 'cos it's meant for simply wrapping round a tree or bushes (whatever's available) to winch from or anchor your vehicle to to winch someone else from. This is the most basic winch recovery kit. As it's wire rope, get decent leather gloves, and a heavy winch blanket, and keep bystanders well away from the winching area .. :)

Nice one, appreciate the advice Paul. At the moment I do very little off roading...the winch was possibly a cheap buy, hence thinking it might be good for the occasional bit of laning and my ultimate aim of an overland trip to Morocco one day. However I think when that time comes I will spend more on something I know will work and I can get spares for.

Thanks again.
