Can anyone help me I'm trying to get my 300tdi defender to whistle. What I've done so fair is
mantec snorkel
Straight through exhaust with one bend in the system
Upgrade boost pin

I'm wondering what I need to do next if anyone can help with advice that would be great

I think that they sound nice when you can here them whistling :) is there away to turn the turbo up do you know ?

You can turn up the boost if you wish but eventually it will break your engine.

Mine whistles if I boot it, maybe you just can't hear it in the cab. I have minimal sound proofing.

If you want the sound without damaging your engine, just fit a set of external speakers to your stereo and play a CD of whistle sounds. I prefer the "4-4-2 at speed in a tunnel" myself. :)

remove the manifold gasket cut a piece out between atmos and inlet .... she whistles like a banshee after that ....

Stupid idea mind.

Of for the steam train effect do the same on the exhaust manifold on one of the outlets
'Chuff chuff chuff' etc

glue a couple of these to the roof?

Im assuming you want the turbo whistle. I have a full length straight through pipe and standard tuning etc. and at low to medium revs get a real nice whistle when the turbo spins up and on the way back down. at higher revs under load it just blends in to the engine noise.

tweaking the waste gate might give you a bit more without adding to much extra stress on the engine.

as other have said i wouldn't see any benefit in trying to get it to whistle more just for adudiable affect.

One could argue a comma and perhaps an I'm in there sir.
An ''I am'' would indeed be very appropriate in such an instance.
No problem, I'm (I am) happy to be of service.
