hi everyone hoping for some help here, I bought a land rover disco commercial ex RAC about 2 months ago, and it has been absolutely fine runs great when warm plenty off pulling power but few probs that are niggling me.

1. what MPG should I be seeing on 300tdi engine, or how many miles to £10 fuel ?

2. when I start it in mornings its throwing out blue/white smoke and stinks off fuel to the extent it stings your eyes but once warm its fine unles I rev it up to around 2000rpm and hold the throttle it will start chucking the smoke out again. definitely not oil as burning none and also stinks off fuel

what could it be ive changed fuel filter air filter still not done much and I reckon my fuel economy is lousy what should I be checking ??

I was thinking pup timing myself to be honest, and could be ive put tub off injector cleaner in fuel filter so it sends pure cleaner through but doesn't seem to off helped it much, what mpg should I be seeing ?

my 300 110gets 25-28mpg usually more the 28.

my disco does 80 miles on 20 quid with the 245/75 tyres

bout 75 on the 235/85...

mine will only do 20 miles to £10 fuel so roughly double all yours are doing :/

Bearing in mind that a Defender weighs as much as the mood, Out of a full tank in my 300tdi 90, I get about 22-25 without doing any motorway stuff or offroading,

Its worth noting, the set up is different between a disco and a defender, the Disco with always get more mpg simply due to aerodynamics lol
