Please go easy on me i am new to the land rover scene and am wanting to know what wheels (preferably land rover or range rover wheels) i can fit to my 2002 TD4 freelander. I quite like the 18" mondial discovery wheels but i have no idea if they fit straight on or if i need spacers etc of if they just will never fit no matter what.

any advice which you can provide will be gratefully received.

bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha………..ahahahahahahahahaha………hahahahaha……ahaha……aha…..ha……….ha……… snigger

What a waste of disco alloys that would be

maybe so but i just lke the look and thought of keeping landrover wheels on a land rover albeit not a discovery. in time i might be able to afford an older discovery. ok to stand it on its head - what decent 18" wheels are there out there to fit a 2002 TD4 discovery?

with regards to the PCD issue does no one make spacers like hub centric do for the Vdubbers?

thanks for the assistance so far.

you dont want spacers, they arent good for your landy

do you mean what wheels will fit your gaylander ? not disco ? if so 18's a bit too big IMO and correct me if I'm wrong but unless you're just wanting pure road tyres on there as you wont have the clearance inside the arches for chunky tyres

sorry you are right. i did mean freelander. thanks for the heads up on the chunky tyres. i was not thinking of running 18" wheels with full on off road tyres, but given i am in the north of scotland i was planning on at least having some tyres which will cope with some snow and ice without too much trouble. sounds like i might not be able to run anything but a low profile road tyre if i am to get clearance on 18"s

ok. that eaplains why i habe never seen anyone do the bigger disco wheels on a freelander - just too much hassle, wheels too big and i guess if you want to run disco wheels - buy a disco

that said for those out there who do not hate the freelander, is there a decent set of 16" or 17" wheels that look good on the freelander and that with decent tyres will not cause too many clearance issues?

i agree discos are great, it is just that they are big, heavy, thirsty and i was wanting a cheaper fun winter go anywhere vehicle without having to look to the nasty vitaras etc

I still get 35mpg on the motorway and about 20 - 25 round town so they arent too bad

Works out at around 30p a mile in mine and I've got a heavy foot

Jesus, the **** is deep in here...

My lander came stock with 18s
225 50 18r on there now and zero issues.

**** the haters get what you want.

true but you could get 3 people who dearly wish they were dead in the back of freelander. not quite the same but similar. well i guess i cansee where this is headed either get a disco, or a defender or don't bother

actually just googled it, the 18's seem to fit alright

I'll take back my previous comment about 16's but still all the pics I see only have road wheels on them and they're pretty skinny which will be of **** all use in winter

i need to have a think to see what i want to do. if it is not a free lander then sould be time to go back to the audi fold and get another S2 avant - still thirsty but 4x4 and looks good on 17"ers - all i need for the scottish winter
