Do i need to remove the camshaft cover to get the camshaft front cover off to replace the o ring seal. Taken the two studs out but plate rocks about not wanting to come out and did not want to force it. (this is the round plate with two bolt fixing just above the thermostat housing ).

This would be a pre EGR diesel i take it. On the EGR engine that is where the vacuum pump goes. You will need to tease it out gently with a couple of flat screwdrivers.
