Canon and you won't regret it 
I like nikon re canon, but got a deal on an olympus, the one thing I'm not keen about is fixed screen with live view, a tilting screen with live view is handy at concerts etc.
I claim nothing more than to be a novice, but DSLR is a challenge-the rewards are worth the learning curve.

Sound like a good buy, what lenses? Does it come with a memory card?
Good idea to get yourself a few cards and a couple of spare batteries so you always have one ready to go.

don't know the make but there is a 18-55mm and a 55 -200mm and extended battery pack. will bring it next time were out.

I have??? A D70.. though to be truthfull pic ws taken during an hurricane. Camera's so good it even calmed the sea's while I was taking the pic..

What I meant to say was 'if you had a Canon it would have been raining' ... good sea calming button on my D100 also ... do you have the anti tsunami regulator on the lens too?
