While 4.6 in bits i think i might replace cam.

Want torque down low to mid range
Remember its gonna have a supercharger on her too.

Ideas of which one..NO MODDING WANTED
Ie nothing radical

Tnx

Are you gonna run lower comp pistons with the supercharger? No idea on the cam sorry! A viper hurricane was the one he fitted on wheeler dealers to an rv8?

feck wheeler dealers..they are crap..lol

no standard cr..i run 10.5 on the other v8 and that runs 10psi..

here are some options - both with standard springs etc - just make sure you set the pre-load correctly - shims for the rocker arms are 20 quid a set.

Viper hurricane is outstanding in the mid-range but only available as a long-nose for dizy engines - fantastic value at only £160 quid

If you have a GEMS or Bosch engine with auto box engine then the Kent H180 is pretty fantastic - massive wallop off-idle - good mid-range - is also available as long-nose - cost is about £230 from Turners.

Having had such positive experiences with both of these I haven't gone elsewhere although I hear good things about the piper torque max also.

Have used 4 hurricanes and 4 H180's on various engines this year.

thanks for advice..

now is it possible to tell from just looking in valley if my cam is worn or ok?

STANDARD CAM??

you can't really tell until you pull it out and compare the cam to a fresh one of the same type - or lobe to lobe to see if you have specific problem on one cylinder - also you need to check the lifters to make sure they are not dished - if they are then the valves will not open fully even if the cam is ok.

Generally though it is a combination of cam lobe wear and lifter wear.
