K, kindly got given a weber 32 ich carb, but it's being an arse.

I've cleaned it out completely, new gaskets and filter (old one looked like a chocie log).

when on idle it now runs fine, no probs, but when you put your foot down, it struggles, THEN picks up, no changing of mixture will improve it either.

Any ideas? timings alright and fuels not crap either, previous carb ran fine before it. It just seems like its starved of fuel a little. (i've gone from the zenith to this)

tah all, any help apprecieted (with the correct spelling :D)

tah

any other ideas? just seems strange seein as the zenith one were fine, and the weber was fine on t'other vehicle apparently

Hmm is a bit strange. I have a 34ICH on mine and apart from adjusting the throttle linkage a bit there was nothing else to be done.

I found that my Weber did suck quite hard (not being rude)...and partic with the air filter off (temporarily of course) it would stutter like a good-un when you first rev (which the standard carb wouldn't do). If I got my hands round it and restricted the air inlet then it was fine. Might be worth a go?

Is the 32 ICH even smaller than the 34 ICH? The 34 seems to be a tiny little thing, pretty restricted air flow. I have one on my truck and I wish I had a rochester.

i think its just refusing to pul enough fuel in for accelerating. gonna adjust the float, make it allow more fuel to come in and try that, cos thats seems to be the problem

tah for that rusty! will give it a go

Have a look at the Accelerator pump (Check diaphragm)
Also check that your vacuum advance is working by sucking on the pipe.

you sure yer attached it properly and that yer not sucking air in where it joins the manifold
