So it turns out the "2 bit" reference in LR systems documentation is actually the threshold that each corner uses for self leveling ie when actual value is more than 2 bits from target on an individual sensor, so not the threshold difference with the actual reading at the other end of the axle. This makes more sense, and allows for the separate calibration of each corner, and allows the foibles of each sensor/ chassis mounting to be zeroed
