HI,

Just to let you know that I had my Land Rover stolen during the night on the 3rd January. The thieves didn't need my keys and they left the Clutchclaw (additional security) on the drive next to where the Defender had been. They had some kind of master key for this too as it was not damaged.

The Defender was a 2005 TD5 110 XS in Cairns Blue. It had whitewall Grabber tyres and a Northern Ireland plate: FXZ 8135. It had just 75,000 on the clock. It was in really good condition.

It was stolen from Otley (West Yorkshire) on a windy (and therefore noisy) night.

I just thought I'd let you all know about it, and to be vigilant. Otley is on the border with North Yorkshire where there has been a spate of Land Rover thefts. ANPR cameras picked it up next day in the Halifax area. It has not been seen since.

Sorry to hear this.

Very surprised to hear about the Clutch claw, but thankyou for letting us know.

I hope you hear good news in the future and you get it back untouched

Cheers.

Hi

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, the Clutchclaw was undamaged, it had some black grease on it, but they took it off and just popped it on the floor as if to make a point.

Another one....man alive, this is stupid. Hope you do get it back in one piece chap.

Morning all,

Many thanks for your kind words and the article on Defender2.net is really interesting. Otley is in fact on the border with N.Yorkshire.

Regarding the clutchclaw, it was this more than anything that troubled me. They removed it without even damaging it, but it's completely useless as a deterent now.

I'll contact NY Police regarding that arrest.

Many thanks for your help.

Sorry to hear this matey, it is soul destroying1 Mine got taken from off the drive on the night of the 4th Jan from Didsbury south Mancs. Absolutely gutted, all the hard work that goes into them. Best of luck mate, hope you get it back!

Sorry to hear that, mine was seen heading towards Manchester later that same day. West Yorkshire Police have been really good and efficient but as yet no news.

It seems these scum bags are prepared to travel to steal peoples hard earned property, I think they prefer to do it away from their own doorstep where they may be identified easily. Motorways are a big help to them, I knew someone who lived near Sheffield and after a spate of robberies in his village Police picked up the crooks who had been traveling from Liverpool.

Guys, upset for you both and I genuinely hope you both get them back in one piece. The arseholes who stole them should be impaled with their cock and balls shoved down their own throats.

And then they should be hung, drawn and quartered.

And have their licences endorsed.

Funny the hung drawn and quartered was the first thing I thought of...
Chownz how long after the cameras caught it did you get notified?
I can't help but think it is up to the landrover community to take care of business themselves. Which in my head looks like stakeouts, sting operations and kneecappings!
