can anyone tell me if my steering wheel controls will still work i am replacing my unit with a landrover becker pro sat nav unit dealer hasnt got a clue and could someone please tell me if my td4 03 plate has a speed pulse please help:(

What's a "speed pulse"?

Could try the autoleads web site for a possible answer to your question about steering wheel controls.

speed pulse is fitted to cars so that the sat can track the speed of the car helping to track its progress u can usually find it in one of the pins or wiring

I see  Clever gizmo to aid the sat nav. Thanks for that.

i dont think they will im sure that on high line radio's there is a seperate module interface which sits below your centre console, on medium line setups the switches are controled by the head unit itself,

sorry bit technical for me i thought replacing one landrover slot in radio with another it would be fine thanks jim

it normally would be but your changing a radio for a sat nav unit :)

i have a part i got from land rover it said i needed it to change over it has a pin connection with 2 connections running off it is this the interface cheers

I've got the Becker satnav fitted (from the factory). It uses the same audio controls as other radios so should work (but may need an interface). The interface should be supplied with the unit if you've got a LR one.

I don't think the Freelander delivers a speed pulse and the avg speed is calculated by the sat nav directly.

What are you going to use for a GPS antenna or have you replaced the aerial as well?

it is a landrover one what is the interface and what does it look like i got a got an arirl and gps with it thanks for your reply jim
