My 300 tdi is always slow to turn over yet always fires, I have taken it as a character of the beast. If it still starts and you do no need to jump the bugger let her live! Tweaking her parts may give you more trouble than you bargain for.

so is this starting by holding the pedal down and starting as good as it gets then?

the next thing i was thinking of doing was fitting a non return valve in the fuel line before the lift pump..! as previously told could be leak back problem, and to fit this valve before renewing the complete fuel lines.....!

or should i just leave her as she is now....?

as its not embarressing now when i go out to it first thing and start her up..!

any comments welcome

I just dip the clutch and turn the key, couple of turns of the engine and she fires into steady running - pump tweaked, egr out, particulate filter out.
