Evening, thought I'd share my experiences of this product with you. And no I'm not linked to them or on their payroll !

I have galvanised rock sliders and the plain aluminium chequer plating on my 90 and I've been meaning to paint or coat it for ages.

So I ordered the Buzzweld CIO aerosol and it arrived today. Even though it says no primer required i did put a zinc primer on first and then sprayed the product on.
It is easy to apply, the finish is good and it only takes about 15 mins to dry enough for a second coat if required.
Given the rock sliders get stood on every time anyone gets in i gave them 3 coats.
It's says a satin finish but to me it looks more matt but very in keeping with the rest of the Landy.
So far so good, I guess the test is how long it lasts and how tough it is. They make some pretty big claims on their website so hopefully it will last well.

Anyway thought I'd share this in case anybody else was looking at the product.
Cheers

Thanks for taking the trouble to post. The real value /test is in how it performs over the longer term, after lots of use and abuse. Could you make a note in your diary to update us in, say, 6 months? I for one would be grateful - my repainting schedule starts in February, normally....

Will do ogb.

Hers a couple of pics. Not perfect but pretty good i reckon.

Looks like a smooth finish on the sliders - well done. Be very interested to see how it stands up to regular use.

I'll be honest I dont reckon it will last. But if it doesn't ill try something else. The rear quarters look pretty rough but look better in the flesh.

I've tried to protect my paintwork by putting some anti-slip tape on the areas where I tread. This has worn out so I peeled it off last week but took the underlying paint with it....:(. I don't suppose that matters if I replace it in the same place, but it shows that the primer I used on the (galvanised) finish before painting them black didn't really work.

Update

Thought I'd share that 6 months on there is no wear on any of the areas I painted.
I thought the side runners would mark but they look as good a they did when first painted. I have to say I am impressed with the product.

I think you probably need some sort of 2 pack if painting areas that get a lot of wear, I'd be interested in how the buzzweld holds up

In the end went for Raptor on the bits you tread on and smooth satin on the rest, not so tidy but I think will hold up

Just picked up a galvanised roof rack, how many aerosols do you think I'd need to spray it in buzzweld?
Thanks
