heres an interesting one
my 97 300 tdi jap import buzzes from the injection pump
it sound like a relay not contacting correctly
ive tracked it down to what the manual says is A
solenoid operated valve energization device
but thats all i can find i know its connected to the control unit
but does anyone else know what this unit does ?
car seems to run ok but I dont think it should buzz all the time
even when the ignition is turned on and the engine is not running

Perfectly normal for a Bosch EDC pump,dont worry about it.

is that right ?
buzzes all the time ?
as soon as the ignition is turned on and continues when the engine is running ?

Pleased I read this post.......Mine does the same lol, knew it was the pump just hate buzzes lol.

If it stops buzzing you need to worry (it will run real bad with clouds of smoke) im still trying to work out what part was buzzing so i can fix mine. any ideas (96 300tdi Auto)

Sorry mate, cant help without having a real good nose, hopefully someone can help you but in the mean time i'll get under the hood and have a dig about
