Hi, new to the forum I havent even had the freelander a week! I have a sort of buzzing noise or like a cooling fan running on after I switch the motor off. This is after I have just got home from work this is only 1.5 miles so the engine cant be that hot.

This morning I had another look and found a small pipe prodruding through the front nearside bumper Put my hand under it and there was hot air being pumped out, can someone tell me what this is. I am assuming it is related to my noise.

Thanks.

its coz yu got a doozil.

Its the auxilary power unit that is used to keep the engine nice and warm when it has to go out of its comfy garage and onto the dangerous roads:eek:

(doozil pre-heater)

or a very large bee.....!!! ;)
I just knew I was going to get one of these answers :D :D

I assume (got to stop using that bad word) the pre-heater thingy doesn't run once the engine is at full temperature then? and it is nothing for me to worry about.

I had a Deasil Picasso before but wasn't as sofistimicated as this.....

Ok I know! hit me with the picasso or french jokes now :)

Yes, it's something to worry about... get a specialist to disconnect and remove the pre-heater and have him send it directly to me for costly disposal... ;)

after a, intensive search of the internet and calling round about 250 LR dealers i can say that this will probably answer your question

seems to be an echo on the forum today :D :D Nice one Slob - classic!:p

Miles, if you see any adds for a Kenlowe preheater, or a webasto jobby, they all do the same thing. They use some of yer desieseal, and burn it to heat up yer engine rapid below a certain temperature...and don't worry about drips from underneath coming from a pipe on yer bulkhead...thats yer aircon...just pre-empting....;)

People,

The post says: Buzzing noise under the fuse box?

When this noise, "like a cooling fan running on after I switch the motor off", is heard from the inside, can't it be he hears the cooling fan of the ECU being a little noisy????
