My daughter has one and it is a lovely car but when she had probs with it my son-in-law who is a mechanic had trouble tracking down the faults . She took me out in in and it is very nippy, great when they are running ok
but after all said and done given the choice I think will stick with my f1

When the FL2 is good, it's actually very good. However when problems come up, they can be very painful to sort, both mentally and financially.

Ditto, a good one is good, if you can say that about all makes! Look for a good service history, and make sure all upgrades have been actioned, probably means paying a bit more, rather than from car supermarkets

There's loads of Freelander 2's out there happily driving around. Some have been doing it since 2007. They're still ont road and their owners love them.

If you go to look at one, make sure it has 2 working key fobs, all electrics are working and if possible look underneath for corrosion. A decent service history is always a good thing but when I see an advert saying thousands of pounds spent in last couple of years, I look elsewhere.
