So does my 94 have EDC?
To early, it was the 1996 model year D1 auto that that EDC engine upgrade, which was in the LR dealers show rooms in miid 1995.
EDC equipped engines came with cruise control as standard, as the LR salesman was quick to point out back then.

Cheers, no cruise control on mine, would have liked it though. Is it something that you can retro fit?

Almost certainly not. If it is a manual, then definitely not. An EDC auto will have the "check engine" light in the cluster - but the bulb might have been removed! - post a picture of your FIP, and I will tell you for definite !
FIP? I can get a photo tomorrow.. once I know what I'm photographing :)

Fuel Injection Pump. If you have aircon, this will be awkward to photograph, as it is under it .... Another "difference" with the EDC ones is the EGR, which is a pure vacuum device, unlike the rest, which were vacuum and electrical ... Plus of course the wire to the now infamous #4 injector! .... and the CPS, and ....

My first D1 auto, which I really regret selling, was registered 8th Feb 1995 ( and is still around too :) ), and was EDC but did not have cruise control  ... IME EDC was introduced in "fits and starts", and there doesn't seem to be a definitive date  .... it is either EDC or it isn't :D o_O

Cruise control was in the TA Vin 1996MY D1, so your disco was the last of the 1995MY so Vin MA 163103 to MA 501919 Vin so without cruise.:(

The Japanese spec D1, the date is unclear, had EDC with a manual gearbox ERR3338.

All the info is in the D1 parts catalogue, theres a total of ten EDC ECUs part numbers listed, four are for the UK -Europe it depends on the engine, fitted if interested.
Petrol is so much simpler :D

I can't upload photos at the moment, keep getting a message saying, 'unable to load image at present '
But I do have wires going to the vacuum part of the EGR
