Hi all, Im still on my search for a Defender 90 TD5 or TDCI (budget about £12-£13k). Ive spotted one for sale and any advice much aapreciated...

Its an 04 Defender 90 hardtop, but the owner has fitted rear windows - so it looks like a station wagon.
If I like it and buy it - do I need to inform my insurance its a modified hardtop or re-register it with DVLA or anything?

Ive been to see 6 Defenders now, 2 07 TDCi's and 4 TD5s-all were very used and look like needed some weld work and new panels so Im still looking for something in better condition... could this be the one?

from what has been said before as it was done by some one else NO,. Seems all insurance wants to know about are performance mods. To set your mind at ease send a PM to Jordan on the Adrian flux thread, he is our own special insurance man assigned to Landyzone.

One other thing, i may be wrong...

Hardtops are classed as vans and subject to LEZ tax around london, even if rear windows added.

Think you are correct. But if she is not in London no big deal, plus hard tops cheaper insurance and believe tax disc. Just got to weigh it for each individual.
