Seems cheap for what you get, but no mileage is a bit of a question mark.

It's also a Series 2 which is a plus point.

I's take a run and look at it, if the mileage is less than 100k you shouldn't lose anything unless it is a trashed engine/gearbox.

Over here that would be $US 8000 if in good condition, and would be 120K miles by now.

the back end could be a bit low would be thinking the air bags could need doing

If that were an issue, what would I need to have done to it?

Also, what's better about a Series II? Just flaws corrected from the Series I?

And, if it ended up being high mileage, what could I have serviced to have this not crap out on me?

Replacing the suspension airbags (if needed) is a straightforward job - the bags are about £70 each - plus some fitting time if you don't want to do the work yourself.

The Discovery II, as it's commonly known in Europe, is a much more refined vehicle altogether than the first run of Discoverys 1989 - 1998.

V8 petrol motors don't seem to be able to take big mileages as well as the diesel alternatives, so if it's over 100,000mls, put some money aside for a rebuild. It may be ok, but if you have a budget ready for a rebuild it won't be such a big shock.

Looks ok! Must be worth going to see at that price. Plenty of money left to sort out any jobs.
If the air suspension is o its way out, you could convert it to coils.
