wheres the best place to get replacement bushes from
im looking for the rear trailing arm(i think thats what they are called)bushes
for my rangey

If your gonna do the Trailing Arms....you may as well do the lot, front and rear...you can get them all as a set IIRC....

Could Try Island4x4 they always seem good on price etc (no affiliation)

island 4x4 only list 1 rear bush thats why i asked if they were all the same in the rear arms

Sorry thought you meant front and rear. Only two bushes at the rear L/H R/H both the same. Four at the front to axle all the same. And two pivot bushes for rear of front radius arms. Same both sides. Panhard rod bushes are same front and rear.

What happend to? if it ain't broke don't fix it or at least a check of the others must be a short bar tho ask wammers not the leverage applied the bar length that counts ;)

He fancies changing his bushes. Leave him to it. Yes a short bar anything can be made to move if you use a long enough one. The idea being if you can move it a lot with a short bar it is weak. That is why a short bar is specified in the MOT test and not one four foot long. :):):)

i was told that if you change any rubber items like bushes to do both sides
as if one is wearing out the other cant be far away either

Your getting confused with shock absorbers , who's to say one side hasn't been changed already a simple check would take assumptions away ;)

I'm old enough and wise enough to know to change things that are needed not just for fun/ sake ! So should you be :p

No i don't change things for fun either. Neither do i wait for something to fail before taking action. But if he is intent on changing them i would say do them both.

Noah's ark two by two. I'd buy the kit fit what was needed if the others were badly perished I'd fit as nessary that's what inspections are for and you would soon get feed back of a failing one . Sod it change the lot before they go :d :d :) preventive

On a vehicle it is always best to keep both sides of equal status if you can. :)

Right, for somthing that only flexes It wouldn't make much differance unless the bush has actualy come away we are not talking brakes or shocks here lol

Unwise - Always treat the vehicle in a symetrical fashion...uneven wear side to side can be considered dangerous...

Yes it is just a part that flexes, but a part that flexes by a certain amount...if one side flexes more or excessive movement due to wear will give an asymetrical handling across the axle and could be dangerous...

Brakes, Shocks, Springs/Bags, Bushes etc should be replaced in axle sets....Ball Joints is a matter for another discussion...but I have always replaced them as a pair (where required) too.
