I have a 300 TDi safari model which has spots on the lower half of the bumper, there doesnt seem to be a switch for them, there is also a soft A bar with spots in it that do work, should they both work together ?
Who knows, the vehicle didn't leave the factory with spot lamps below the bumper, but some did with fog lamps with the controlling switch in the row by the dash clock.
That switch does work the A bar spots but the fog lights dont come on with them, thats why im asking if that switch should operate all four at once ? they are factory fogs in the bumper.
The standard dealer fit spot on the A bar don't have an independent switch and just a relay operated (to comply with the "rules") when the headlamps are on main high beam.
As fog lamps are only for foggy or falling snow conditions they are switched independently.
So the answer to your question is not when the vehicle left the dealers showroom.
Hi I have fog lights in my bumper and spots on the a frame, the spots come on with the high bean ( as mentioned earlier via a relay) and the fogs in bumper have a switch on the dash next to rear fog light switch, hope this helps
