So come to fit my PowerfulUk lamp bracket remakes to my front crossmember. Fine by me. Got some screws to replace the ****e rivnuts. Fine.

Come to remove the front bumper. I expect rusted up screws. Fine. Half of them budge, half of them dont. Also fine. A quick soak of WD40 behind the head gets them going.

First bolt that I come to comes off an absolute dream, and doesn't seem too rusted on.

HOWEVER

Second Bolt (Near Side) Is so ****ing rusted tight, that it has snapped its plastic casing inside the bumper and now has a ****ty piece of metal rotating inside that I cant get to with a pair of grips.

Any people got any bright ideas as to how to get the little ****er out? Very tempted to bite the bullet and give it to the garage that I bought it off and get them to sort it, if it doesnt cost the earth to get done. any more than the brackets and lights themselves and I'm not quite sure what I will do.



Rant over. Time to calm down a bit.
 
Can you pry the head up and then clip it off or something? If it's spinning in its hole then I suppose drilling it is out of the question.
 
Five minutes with an air hacksaw through the bolt from the outside at a friendly local garage did it. Only took five minutes to put the brackets on after that. Now just going to replace all of the bolts with stainless steel after this weekend lol.

Didn't bother with the nutserts in the end. Went for some decent sized self tapping screws into the metal. They aint moving nowhere. Anyone any suggestions as to where to run the cabling to? Not done it yet, and have put the bumper back together but I can take it apart again if needs must. Was thinking just a bit of copex and run it off to one side around to the battery area. How hot does the radiator get when the engine is running, but not moving?
 
im struggling to get my bumper off for life of me how does it come off anybody got a diagram of were the bolts are in the inner wheel arch
 
they are around the arch then take the headlamp out and there is one there and there are some scrivit pins under the grill and thats about it I think hope this helps

You don't need to take the headlight out, just remove the panel in the wheel arch liner you remove to get at the indicater bulb.
 
I just did this yesterday, and it's a bit of a PITA, but the trick (for me) in finding the correct bolts inside the wheel arch, is that they are 10mm. So if you stick a socket wrench extension up the wheel flap (you only need the front half of the flap open - just fold it open a bit) find the two 10mm bolts and remove them. Then simply pull each side of the bumper forwards - assuming you've undone all the bolts at the front!

If you don't have a long socket extension you will probably have to remove the entire arch liner first.
 
hi i for got to say the screws at the bottom and the car I did that on was a 2001 td4 auto and for got to say I had to take the headlight out as they just turned in the end I just put a bolt in with nut as the car was going
 
I didnt even fold the flap back to be fair. You can do it from the front access panel in the wheel arch. I additionally didnt have to take the headlight out either.
