Having a senior moment
I've been looking at putting some longer bump stops on my motor. I am wondering, though, whether I can simply make some spacers outof sheet metal and use those to mount the stops on.

Is there any reason why not?

At the moment, when i go over a bump, one or more of the wheels contributes a little of the rubber off the tyres to the bodywork. If I assume correctly, longer bump stops will stop this.

lol, it will help keep your arches clean :p

too biger tyers there mate but yes I guess you are correct

What supsension you running? If standard you may hit the stops on minor bumps. This could lead to poor handling and wear on running gear. And it will get on your nerves trust me on that.

If running lift springs or HD springs. You'll be ok.

And for the cost of new extended bump stops I'd just go out and buy new ones. £8.50 each.

What size tyres you running btw?

I find that a bit of box tube is better. Pretty simple to do
