Well i have finally got round to replacing my roof and bulkhead seals only to find the state of my bulkhead was worse than i thought, so i have decided it is time for a new bulkhead. Here i have my first dilemma....do i get a Galv bulkhead to match my shiney chassis or do i get a a standard one and pump it full of Waxoyl? I have read many comments about bulkheads distorting....just wondering if any forum members who have fitted Galv buklheads could comment?
Onto my second idea....probably something to do with seeing Twisted Performance's Corvette V8 powered 110 this weekend...i am toying with the idea of swapping my 200tdi. Now the first question is the age old V8 vs tuned Diesel, Twisted's mechanic recommended highly a TD5 with VNT but would i really see that much benefit over my 200tdi with full width intercooler, hybrid turbo and tuned pump? OR do i go down the displacement route and build myself a V8 (Have a Chevy 350 in mind....like the good old overfinch defenders)
Lastly i have some concerns with moving engine mounts on my galv chassis, obviously my nicely galv'd chassis would have to be ground back and welded....Defeating the point of the galvanising. Just wondering if other people have done the same or have any ideas?
If anyone could pass some advice on engine transplants it would be great as is customary with Landyzone....all opinions welcome!
