I going to be doing some repairs to the bulkhead. I've added some photos of where the windscreen bracket attaches, which at present isn't much. Anyone got any photos of whats its supposed to look like here?
Cheers

As a general rule, you should only be able to see through the windows....not the body work.

Unfortunately with the bulkhead it's quite often a lot worse than it looks. I would suggest taking the dashboard off and having a good look. The bulkhead pillar's are likely also not in great condition. Depends how handy you are with a welder

That'll keep ya busy for a while. Like others suggest, expect more as you go.......the joys of a defender

Yeah everything is striped and it need pillars, footwells and the drain gutter all from which I have purchased from YRM along with both both side of vent panel (full panels). I was just hoping that someone had a photo of what's supposed to be behind the vent panel holding the two tubes in place.
I'm a plater by trade so that part of it doesn't bother me.
The chassis is shot too, but that will have to wait as I'm living on that money I had put away for that!

Nothing is between the vents/tubes. Just flat steel on both sides
Just make sure you put the tubes in the correct place as they are for the widescreen

As above, you just have to make that bit yourself. Good luck with the job and you may like to post pics for others to see.:)

I couldn't imagine a better time to be doing this kind of repair. I did mine last summer. Thought it was take 2 weeks, took 2 months. Wish I had taken a bit longer.

I ended up doing both bulkhead side posts, the vent areas, and the footwells. Very proud now though.

Do you have any photos?

I thought there should be the fly screen mesh ?

Ok, having mooched around ...

Screens were optional on Series 11 and 11a - and are in 4 pieces, 2 long and 2 short...

They're standard on Series 3 under layers of plastic and rusty steel and are 1 piece each side... and are an easy fit for the earlier models ...

The Series 3 fly screens are 395185, but should be galvy ...
