I currently have a 300tdi bulkhead, dash and loom fitted to my 1989 110 running a disco 200tdi and lt77 box.
The bulkhead is now beginning to show signs of aging and has developed its first hole on the inside top corner (the part the repair panels do not cover). Although I will repair this at this stage it has got me thinking about other options for the future. I fitted a galv bulkhead to m series a couple of years ago and would like to do the same with the 110. From my experience of getting the series bulkhead supplied and looking at other going through the same thing the best option to keep the vehicle on the road as long as possible (daily drive) will be to buy a second bulkhead and get this repaired and galved before swapping them over and then reselling my current one. This is what I did with the series and did not cause any problems.
My question then is what is the difference between the bulkheads fitted on different models?
I am looking for a straight swap with no modification needed. I know a TDCI bulkhead will not fit but do not know what differences there are between between the td5/3/200tdi and the earlier 110/90 bulkheads I would have had originally. Looking online the descriptions from people selling them seem to be extremely vague and claim they cover all modes. If there are actually no differences this would explain that and give me more confidence in purchasing one to then get galvanised.
