Hi Guys one of the bulbs has blown in my clocks on my L322 04, is it as simple as removing the big ass bolts holding down the top of the dash and accessing the clocks to change the blown bulb ??? Is it that simple .. I didnt want to remove the dash bolts to hear a clunking from the captive nuts dropping into the never never..

I have seen pictures of the dash when they repair the dead pixels in the odometer and they replace the lamps at the same time. To get inside the unit seems that the needles have to come off and most of the unit had to be taken apart !

according to RAVE, it is just about that simple as far as I can see.
take off the top of the dash, remove two screws either side of the cluster, remove 3 multiplugs and it should just lift out.
the bulbs are accessible on the rear of the cluster - Guide for removing temp gauge
good luck

Unfortunately after removing said bolts I attempted to remove the dash but nothing, I tried lifting directly up, pull out all sorts nothing its well and truly staying put for now.. anyone removed it before ?

hmm im interested now

as i have seen that you can change those lamps to LED's which looks the dogs :)

as long as i dont have to physically open the cluster and dismantle any needles i would like to change them.

from the pics on the attached link above, it looks as if the lamps can be just removed from the back of the cluster ? twist the holders and they come out, small capsule lamps i think ?

any one else done this mod ?

looks good i think ?

oh and to remove the dash its not just the bolts visible on the top, you have screws under the speaker grille, and underneath each piller / air vent at each end of the dash. each end piller needs to come off to be able to lift the top of the dash off.

very easy once you have done it once. :D

Ok thanks when I get more time ill try it, with the led mod my mate did it to his alfa and got the bulbs off eBay, unfortunately its a lot brighter than the rest of the dash and becomes annoying .. each to his own and all that ... but thanks for the tips ..

There are some very useful videos on youtube done by powerfulukltd. I think they sell upgrade kits and do videos on how to fit them.

The videos are a good resource though.

So it appears to do your job you first need to remove the panels at either end of the dash with the ventilation grille in. To do this see this video - How to remove the dash end panel on a Range Rover Vogue - YouTube

Once you have done that it is then to the top panel and the two screws you refer to in your original question. For this part see this video - How to remove the radio / screen on a Range Rover L322 MkIII - YouTube

Hope this is of some use to you and others.
