Excellent job there mate, would love to be able to bend tubing like that, as wanting to make a new front and rear bumper, but my bender seems to stretch the tubing, esp when making a right angle bend, so its not round anymore - if that makes sense...
I have one of these...
Was ok for the expedition racks etc, but not for anything bigger...unless I am doing something wrong (have tried filling the tubes with sand, but that only resulted in a huge sandy mess)

Spoke to me mate about using that type of bender and all he did was take the ****,
He said its fine for small stuff etc but as you have found out they aren't any good for bigger stuff as it just flattens the bend, if it was me and didn't have access to me mates tool (LOL) then I'd either buy the bends ready done sleeve and weld or just pay out and them done by a pro but hate not doing stuff myself.

you can make cages using one of them, you need the right former (mandril) or you will get kinks, made 2 roll cages and my roof rack with mine so far, tried initially like you with sand/water packing it etc and it wouldnt work.

Found mine was fine when I built my rack, used 22mm tubing with 3mm wall, and bent it all fine, just when I try bigger stuff it flattens the bends.
What mandril do you have, as I have about 6 of them, largest one fits a 2.5" diameter pipe (I think) from memory.
Even tried loads of grease etc to help the rollers, but think I need some sort of clamping unit to stop the pipe coming up and out of the mandril.

It was a baileigh mandrel tube bender so the tube is supported both sides the whole bend

Todays little bit of progress
mounting point off rear bumper made up from 6mm plate and some 3.6mm wall tube then bolted through the bumper then bolted through the tube as per pics
Its taken almost all the flex out of the cage and bumper already so should be to solid once another 12 meters of tube are added in
But the main reason for fitting rear hoop today was so I can collect the rest of the tube tomorrow,
So friday I will cut the tube to length and notch it ready for welding, then ill see if it needs any extra bracing for the rear bumper to chassis

getting there what are the bumper mopunts like, not sure id trust standard mounts attached to roll cage in a roll over personally.

Slower than I would like but yeah not much left to do really,
The rear cross member is totally rust free! It's got the reinforcing for the NATO hitch as well as the 2 bolts for bumper mounting but will see how it goes as I've got some 75mm x75mm x 3.2mm box that I can add from chassis to bumper ends if need be to reinforce it all

Almost there now, just need to pull it all apart to fully weld it then a quick paint up and it done
have added a loop for the winch hook
Will tag it to the B pillar also I think just to add some extra strength
Will add a cb aerial mounting but not sure if I should have it on the roof or on the back edge(down 1 side) of the rear hoop?

Looking sweet : ) try and keep spring at bottom of aerial below roof then should never break : ) hopefully.

Nah it"shouldn't" but thats part of the reason to tag it to the B pillar to help reduce any twist

Yeah think I'll add a tab of metal and bolt a pin mount on tthe rear hoop should help stop it being ripped off,
gotta have toys mate!! Yeah I'm on pf,I'm quite surprised how many users from pf are on here as well
