iv been offered a hybrid 88 its a shortened rangerover chassis with a series 3 cab ,its got everything but engine and box so its nearly there.what plates should it have on it the series 3 or the rangerover.imthing as its got rangerover chassis then it should have the rangerover logbook and vin.
its got to be legal as im going to use it on and off the road

Isn't the age decided on a points basis?

Surely, if you use the RR engine and suspension then it is still a RR.

If the range rover chassis, suspension etc was unmodified then that id could be used but as soon as its cut in half and shortened (or lengthened as my mate found out) then its off to the sva shop.

Yep. The chassis IS the identity. So it is the Rangie... but as mentioned, once modified it needs an SVA and an almost certain Q-plate. One thing it will never be is a series.

sva test , i'm afraid . not that bad really , yeh what ever , it's a **** , you'll really need to do a proper job on the rebuild as the test is so much more than an MOT .

i didnt think that they issued q plates any more, but if i buy it i was hoping to put a private plate on it afterwards which you cant do with a q
