Hey everyone!

Anybody know where i can get hold of some of the chunky brushed aluminium side steps for a 2001 freelander?
One of mine had rusted up on the brackets and promptly snapped when i stood on it today.
Perhaps it might weld....????

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved!!

Hi
Side steps should weld ok you will need to remove all the rust first and perhaps fabricate some new brackets cheaper than new ones be sure to remove from the vehicle or disconnect battery and alternator to protect electrical circuits:eek:

Good luck

I wonder if anyone has put checker plate on a freelander. Not quite in keeping with the freelander really which have better body work that most of these other land rovers which use it to hide bad paintwork or rust.

On the fittings have you tried EBAY for some?

Checker plate looks awful no matter what vehicle its on.
Its put on to hide oxidising paint and rust so theres no need for it on a Freelander.
