Just took of the door panel and the cable that winds the window is frayed, can just the cable be replaced or do i have to buy a new motor? Any other tips on removal and re fitting would be great to, thanks in advance:mil36:

If you know what your doing its only a 20 minute job to try the repair kit and worth a shot for £18, but dont put all your hopes into it :)

Removing the window reg is something like :

-Door Panel off
-Weather proofing off
-2 7mm bolts to remove top rubber seal, lifts off upwards.
-Unplug 2x heatedscreen connectors on right hand side of glass.
-2x10mm slacken off to release glass. Remove Glass.
-Disconnect electronical connector for Regulator.
-Undo 2x 13mm nuts at bottom at each side
-Undo 4x 10mm bolts at top of each side.
-Undo 3x 10mm bolts holding motor into place.
-Its out :)

Hope that helps.

Thanks fellas, let you know how it goes, like you say for £18 its worth a go, better than the £££££££££££'s for a new one!

Had mine done with the more expensive £30 ones with the nipple fixed on already as some you have to glue it on. It seems ok now. Getting the tension sorted seems to be the key on these things. Still, even if it lasts only for a while it's way cheaper than a whole unit.

Repair done, took ages as cable to short, had to adapt it and got there in the end, still was better and cheeper than buying a new one!
