Hi all,

I noticed a while ago that to select reverse I know longer had to push it through the gate. Nothing else was wrong and it wasn't getting any worse so I decided to ignore it. However, Monday morning I jumped in and reverse has moved to the middle of the box and 2nd, 4th and 5th are unselectable.

I have changed the oil to look for metal and ensure there was the correct fluid and level in there. I have adjusted and bled the clutch, checked the bias spring and adjustment, checked the rose fitting at the bottom of the gearstick, which seemed ok.

I'm supposed to be driving home to South Wales on Sunday for christmas, I hope the problem is going to be something simple and not a new gearbox?

Any ideas?

Many Thanks

lt 77 i presume it sounds more like fault with gear box selector housing ,either grub screw has come loose in yoke under lower lever or you will have to remove the housig from gear box 4 x bolt to rear housing of gear box ,there are 2 roll pins one holdind lever on rear of housing and 1 holding quadrant on selector shaft in box ,when refitting ensure high/low diff lock are adjusted to work properly jacking 1 front wheel up helps with this so you can turn output shaft, on the gear box selector housing on drivers side is the reverse plunger these can be cleaned up and and adjusted using shims between housing and plunger and sometimes on plunger itself

Had another look today, the rose fitting on the selector shaft had actually come lose, when I checked it last time I must have forced it around when trying to select a gear. Feel a bit stupid for not spotting it the first time
Tightened the grub screw into place and I'm away.
Thanks again
