Hello
I was draining my engine block today and as I was tightening up the engine coolant tap on the block the wing nut started spinning freely. The tap is still drilling water out from the flush. How can this be fixed and close the tap ?

New is best but turn the shaft with a mole/vice grip to close for now.

Will this not crush the shaft of the tap as it is brass ?

Well it will mark it, but then fit a new one as noted above.
