Right, update!

Got the rocker cover off finally and rear pedestal stud has 'most likely' pulled/stripped out of the head.

Now stuck cos can't get rocker shaft out cos not got 10mm spanner/socket!

Have called AA but typical bull**** gotta send a patrol and then if and when we might get a flatbed.

Personally I'm dying to get this rocker shaft out to inspect the damaged hole and recover the valve stem caps but my mate just kinda wants to go home :p

The other thing is the patrol might say (this has happened before) that seeing as I've worked on the car they won't touch it!

Might be in need of help yet chaps, thank you for your attention thus far! :)

Rockers seem ok just lost the rear stud

I've called AA so don't really want to make anyone drive long distance for a car which might not be fixable :(

No stud here :(

petrol station doesn't sell a "my first tool kit" then?

Ran in there all hopeful, asked for tools and cashier man GAVE ME, A STRANGER, HIS CAR KEY and said rummage in the boot I think there's a spanner :jaw:

Luckily it was a 1/2" which was just right for the 13mm rocker box nuts :)

Surprisingly helpful :) Shame he doesn't have a 10mm too... you could "borrow" his car to go somewhere you could get one from...?

My parents are only 10 mins from uttox but will be asleep so afraid i'm not going to wake them for a 10mm spanner!

hope you get sorted sam, by the way the aa have to give you an hour to see if they can sort the problem
