you paid for recovery you tried to fix, couldn't so called them no arguement mateRight, update!
Got the rocker cover off finally and rear pedestal stud has 'most likely' pulled/stripped out of the head.
Now stuck cos can't get rocker shaft out cos not got 10mm spanner/socket!
Have called AA but typical bull**** gotta send a patrol and then if and when we might get a flatbed.
Personally I'm dying to get this rocker shaft out to inspect the damaged hole and recover the valve stem caps but my mate just kinda wants to go home
The other thing is the patrol might say (this has happened before) that seeing as I've worked on the car they won't touch it!
Might be in need of help yet chaps, thank you for your attention thus far!![]()
petrol station doesn't sell a "my first tool kit" then?
Ran in there all hopeful, asked for tools and cashier man GAVE ME, A STRANGER, HIS CAR KEY and said rummage in the boot I think there's a spanner :jaw:
Luckily it was a 1/2" which was just right for the 13mm rocker box nuts![]()
theres 2 bolts and 3 studs , should be able to fix without removing head , helicoil could repair poor head thread or grips would get snapped bolt outI had the same problem with mine yesterday but my middle bolt snapped! Easy fix or is it a head off job?

I managed to get the snapped bolt out with my fingers so that says it all really!
