Just spoken to Charlie1 and he's only 500yrds from home so not urgent. Moving to Series section

On a Series with an engine conversion who knows how standard the wiring is?

Best advice I reckon is get your hands on a multimeter or knock up a simple circuit tester with a blub and length of wire. Follow the wiring back from the battery testing each connection back to the ignition switch.

Sorry folks didn't mean to cause a national rescue mission not in danger!!! Thanks though good to no your out there!
But still need to get me Landy going over the weekend, (no Landy no work)so will appreciate any help! Thanks

Have you checked the main earth on the starter? My tri got a high resistance contact there and killed all no dash or anything my money would be On that

If you're concerned about the iso switch you can bypass it by putting both wires onto one terminal.

You really need a circuit tester. It can be as simple as a length of wire soldered to the positive contact of a bulb ( or taped or even held on) touch the outside of the bulb to a good earth and the other to wherever you want to check for current.
.
Start with the 2 battery terminals and then batt +ve to earth. That'll tell you if you have power in the battery and if it's earthed.

Then follow the +ve feed to the isolator, checking for any fuses on the way. If you have power as far as the ignition click it to position 1 and check for power out (should all be live except 1 I think?)

I hate electrics and my understanding is poor but following it through should find the fault.

Most likely its a bad connection that pulling apart and cleaning up will cure or a fuse/switch gone

Have checked all earth straps again this morn all are good no corrosion or loose fits, no cranking at all a total power cut to everything!!! Am off now to buy a volt meter to test ingnition connections ect. Will let you no how that goes. Cheers

Check the live to the starter and the live to the bulkhead if all power is off it will be one of those 2, I'd check lives then earths

 ok muliteter bought battery reading 12.80 from +\ - , when I put earth prob on chassis no reading! Took live feed of starter motor (all the electrics are connected direct to starter) and tried to get reading, again when earthed direct to battery 12.80 reading earthed to chassis 0 reading ! Seems as soon as live wire connected to starter nil power! Not even when prob direct on live terminal and earthed to chassis . Iso switch is mechanical and definitely disconnected , high resistance contact on starter has been mentioned but wot does that look like ?? And how would I no if good ? Absolutely no power getting to ignition !! Any idears where I go from here? Would be appreciated. Thanks

what reading do yu get between positive term on battery and engine block?

put a jump lead between the battery earth and the engine block. see if that helps.
sounds like an earthing problem.

I agree with TMHM, connect a jump lead from the neg side of your battery direct to the engine block. If that works, then it sounds like you have either a dirty earth connection or a broken earth cable. Try cleaning your battery connections as well.

Ok folks just been out to the beast as suggested by mhm run earth from battery to engine block hey I got power to all !!! Turned key to start engin and just had clicking as if battery flat! Still reading 12.70 on meter though, gonna put it on charge now. If earth problem and all straps look ok to me wot am I missing ?? Cheers

You've got a dirty earth connection. Nothing wrong with your battery, thats fully charged at 12.8 volts

That's wot I thought good battery have put jump start on and didn't make any difference !! Would a bad earth just happen over the time of 1hr ? To course total power cut ?? Do I need to pull all earth straps off clean ect? They all look good to me. ?? But like I said earth straight from battery to block full power apart from cranking over !! Baffled !!!

Your earth has deteriated over time to the point where you can't get power. Start with your battery and clean all the earth points including the clamp for the battery connection and while you're at it you might as well clean the pos battery connection. Get a bit of sand paper on the earthing points and get them clean. let us know how you get on.
