Hi all,
Wondering if there's anyone in the Camborne , Cornwall area that can help me out ? Me problem is on me 1975 series 3 with 200tdi engine , parked up went back 1hr later and no power from battery to anything!!! I have looked and fiddled with wires in steering column and for a moment the dash lights came on, turned the key to start and gone again!! Now fiddled as much as I can and still nothing! There is wot I think to be a cut off switch attached to the ignition barrel but was told when I bought it it was disconnected?!! Any ideals or a good help in hand well appreciated. Cheers Adam

Hi Adam, when you say no power to anything, do you mean the car is acting like the battery is flat or just things that are switched via the ignition switch? IE will the side lights work? I know that the switch unit behind the lock barrel on the ignition can be fragile, but is easy to replace. Sorry can not be of more help, I am not that familiar with the series models, though due to the simplicity I hope the fix will be quick. There are a couple of specialists in the area who know the series models backwards. I am In Redruth, PM me if you want. My Disco is off the road at the moment but can offer to bring tools in other car if helpful.

Sent a text to keeper of lzir numbers-, looks like you have no feed from ignition switch

Mhm will be here shortly

Do yu have breakdown cover?
Are yu on your own?
Are yu far from home?
Are yu on public road?

Our nearest are miles away- reckon check switch wires.

Assuming that you have tried jumpstart and looked at switch.

You could get it running by feeding stop solenoid and starter during daylight hours
