Waxoiled the Disco this week. Cleaned all the body work off today with white spirit. Washed it again and polished with carnauba wax. It was looking great. got in and cleaned all the windows. Last of all cleaned the inside of the screen. Bumped the rear view mirror and CRACK.....F----n Livid.

Look on the bright side..a nice new windscreen, heated maybe?

Already heated. Can't remember if it works though as I don't use it. The bright side is I can get the wee spider legs of rust above the screen fixed now when its out.

Can you put a heated windscreen in if it was not an option on your model?
I see 2 connectors empty in the drain channel under the windscreen? Is that what these are for? or are they for heated washer jets?
Can you simply plug in a heated windscreen and thats it? or does it require ECU or Control Module or any other work involved?
Mine got hit by a ginormous rock and so Im researching best options

I'm sure all the wiring is in place for it. Might need a relay
But
Sure you need to tell the ECU that its heated.
Quite a simple process.

There are 2 timer relays located in the engine bay for controlling the heated windscreen, but no need to program it. Apparently.

Why would you not use a heated front screen if you had one fitted!!?? Are you mad!? Awesome things, every vehicle should have one.

If you don't already have a heated screen fitted, or had one originally, you will need to tell the BCU it's fitted for it to work.

Because I rarely drive it. The wife drives and I normally drive the Audi or my 90.

Perhaps as in my case my heater defrosts the screen a lot quicker than the heated screen does :)

Great to use when snow is falling though.
