Depends what you buy. They sell OEM and they sell cheap tat. Buy the cheap tat and complain it’s cheap tat or buy their OEM products and celebrate the quality. I replaced all the suspension on my D1 with OEM for less than £200 and it was spot on. I bout their cheap indicator lenses and they were obviously very cheap but did the job.

To me it's lucky dip. Some things are from the same factory but with a different label/box, other things are completely different and junk. You don't know until you open the box

Have a look at this...

was recently talking to a trade customer of Britpart and it seems they have been taken over by a larger parent company. They are, allegedly, working hard to counter the reputation they have and dropping the sub standard parts and replacing them with a lot of OE parts. Apparently the Britpart XS range of brake components are OE.

I brought britpart xs props which I believe are oe. Also, remember britpart also supply OME, optimil, arb etc. They aren’t just a manufacturer of ill fitting seals.

I've seen chinese companies copy a uk manufacturer down to the company logo. Doesn't mean you should buy them through britpart.

Ill fitting seals??? I remember fighting with a Britpart tail Gare seal for a P38 for hours until I got sick of it, cut it and had to add 6” from the old seal to make it long enough to fit .....

Last Britpart prop I saw had different phasing and was sent back.

I don't buy Britpart anymore. Too many disappointments.

Any britpart part number with a G on the end is okay.
In reality people buy britpart because its cheap, plus it is horse for courses, I use their filters on the TDIs no worries, but would not dream of using their filters on the D3.

Just out of curiosity I have been looking... Britpart front vented disks are £57.60 so x2 £115 and (ebay) x2 Delphi £60 and that includes the postage.... and anyway I would trust Delphi more

Have used Britpart shockers on rear(only ones available at short notice) and been OK after 2years

Only two instances of BP part usage (although the indie. may have used others on my RRC over the years) a radiator fitted several years ago & still in use & a front screen-wash pump ditto that replaced a genuine LR item that didn't work out of the box :(

looking at pads and discs for mine later in the year would you recommend delphi ones

As for britparts .if it goes round n round or up and down i would steer clear Add that includes steering bits .might get you through a MOT but i would not risk my life on it .as for air filters pollen filter ect thats fine ;)

I've got brit part disks, four years they've been on.
I've had britpart and allmakes pulleys and belts before... Err no.
As for shocks, clients have preferred them for their price rather than performance.
For stuff that doesn't mechanically move they are not bad but anything other than that....... For the moment mmmm.

I am trying to remember my old RAF days in supply. Lucas would have been a common part in replacement for military vehicles. Three main service were not one for buying genuine because of the cost from the procurements. Might have seriously changed by now. I'm talking about the eighties then
