Hello! Is there a cover you can buy to cover the britpart winch from rain and mud etc. I have seen a few Warn ones. Cheers! And happy new year

Just remember to remove it once a month and check its keeping the winch dry and not just keeping moisture in as this will corrode it faster than no cover.

Thank you for the advice! Got a new defender 53 plate 110 as my 90 was stolen a few weeks ago. The new beast has a winch and want to keep it nice. Going to go and have a play with it now

Personally unless you really need it I would remove it and sell it as they are a target for theft.
Covers, I dont like them, I feel its better to run it in and out once a month and keep it well oiled / greased, strip and clean the motor and gear box once a year.

Yes I have heard of this. One was stolen in the high street last year. I will do that one night this week. Found loads of uses now I have one, we'll excuses to use it haha

If it was me I would weld the nuts and bolts mounting the winch and bumper

drill the bolt thru the nut and put roll pins in .. buggers will have to drive the pins out 1st . At least then you can take your own winch off without cutting thru bolts

Just coming across this looking for something else. In terms of keeping my winch in reasonable nick, what should I be doing? Run it out and oil with WD40? Grease which bit?

Ta and sorry for thread hijack
