has anyone experience with the britpart universal joints for a defender td5, the landy is from 2004
any advice would be greatly apreciated.

and are the ones from bearmach any good?
i dont have a lot of cash at the moment so cant aford the genuine ones.
the ones i have seen from bearmach cost around 15 pounds

just get OEM, look for the "G" on the end of the code, which the bearmach ones sound like, I usually pay around £15 for my 300tdi ones for GKN units.
All "genuine" ones are is GKN in a Landrover box, you pay the extra £20 for the landy box...

Personally wouldn't touch Britpart ujs cod you will only end up under it in a couple of months time (personal experience). I used to get gkn ones from my local auto factors for around £12.

No, the best I can find them for is £35. I have a TD5 prop on mine, the TDi ones are £15, the TD5 ones are a lot more.

I think i am going to buy 2 genuine land rover universal joints from land rover
I will also buy a complete new rear propshaft from paddocks because it has alot of play in the splines, the last one lasted 3000 miles :(

The std britpart ones dont last, But as said above use the same number with a G on the end and you get GKN from britpart and thats lasted well so far.

3000 miles!!! ouch! what make was that one?
Generally GKN parts good, if you compare the rollers from a GKN UJ to an unknown brand the GKN rollers are fatter and the whole race set up just seems better quality.
Whatever you fit keep them greased! so many people moan on here about parts failing yet they abuse the whole drive system and never maintain them.
Good luck, hope it all works out :)

I dont know what make it is, this is my first month of ownership :D
The service record says it had a new rear propshaft about 3000 miles ago.
I dont abuse the drive train and i collected the landy i replaced all the oils and greased everything
There is a bit of play in the rear drive shaft so that might have strained the propshaft excesive?

I think buy abuse Steve meant actaully abuse the drive train, its people just dont lube them or check the levels, then complain they go wrong.
I do but abuse it every day I drive it, one day it will break, but 4 years on used every day its doing well and not depreciating, cant ask for more really.
