Hi all, having ordered a set of the BP transmission brake shoes & fitting them (along with the new adj. bolt that was in the box) I adjusted the H/B lever to the three clicks as per w/s manual, which held it fine on my sloping drive On the first test run, about three miles, the H/B lever went to the top of it's travel & it no longer stopped the old girl moving so thinking this was 'bedding in' although flipping excessive, I adjusted them again & the same thing happened so thinking the adjuster bolt was a bit easy to move I put a ref. mark on it & the same again so it was obvious the thread lock that was on the new bolt was not up to the job & in fact it would probably drop out if left. Along with the BP shoe retaining pins that were to big to fit through the back plate (I posted pics previously) I've now got to strip the thing down again to sort this adj. bolt out.
So after all that do I genuine, Delphi or re-loctite the BP bolt ?
The shoes themselves held the car ok when adjusted so I hope that doesn't change once the adjuster is sorted.
I will be contacting BP as in my opinion if that bolt dropped out on a longer journey I dread to think what could have happened.
Thanks in advance.
