My 92 Disco is still on it's original suspension which seems rather tired.
I'm looking at replacing the shocks and springs with a britpart standard height HD kit with the super gaz shocks.
Has anybody used them? Are they much of an improvement over OE stuff?
It's used mainly on-road with a bit of towing and gentle off-road (chasing bunnies round a field:D)

TIA

I've not used the shocks but I do have the HD springs all round and yes, they're a good improvement on stock for towing, for carrying heavier loads and for off-road ... They're obviously not as free moving as stock, but that also means there's less bottoming out off-roading. I've had 'em on for ~5000 miles including towing a caravan and four adults (well two kids 13 and 16 but they're as big as adults) on a touring holiday of Normandy/Northern France last year and really like them. Seemed harsh at first but they soon get to feel supple ... and they haven't sagged yet!! Some people told me they'll sag within the first 1000 miles, but mine haven't .. ;)

IMHO for the price they're worth getting if you need a spring change anyway. If you don't need a spring change and are doing it for the looks etc then there are better springs about, Terra Firma seem to be rated pretty good for not totally stupid money ...

Cheers for that Paul. Have you got the name of a retailer for the terra firma springs? I can't find any reference to them on the web.
I'm replacing the shocks and springs because they are fecked (read uber wallowy!) and would like something that will give a better ride on the road.
At the end of the day it's an old bus and I don't want to throw too much money at it ,ideally no more than £200 for the shocks and springs:)

ive got britpart +2" springs + shox fitted and they seem ok decent on and off road but could do with castor correction arms fitting
