Hello,

Can I ask what the boards opinion on the quality of Britpart parts?

I usually like to use OEM parts or even genuine if I can afford it, but Britpart prices are very competitive.

Has anyone had any bad experiences with using Britpart over OEM or genuine LR?
 
if you do a search you will soon find out how popular britpart is, britpart is a wholesaler and sells oe, genuine,branded and pattern ,some pattern parts are **** some good ,things like bearings id allways get oe or genuine from britpart as there pattern arent fit for use generally but there pattern brake discs have been good in my experience ,just ask about when looking for parts and see if individual parts cheaper version will be okay or not
 
Do a :search: FFS m8, it is one of the most discussed debates on here, next you will be asking what size tyres you can fit
 
Use the search box at the top of the page and type in "****part"...

To be fair some of their parts are OK, but thats mainly due the the fact that they're OEM or a OEM main supplier part re-boxed, their own brand pattern parts are true ****parts.

Research is the name of the game and one of the best suppliers is Island 4x4. At least they tell you in their listings if its OEM or Britpart and usually give you the option of which to chose..

I did! It came back as no results though so I'm obviously doing something wrong. Sorry about that.

I've had Island recommended to me so I'll start there.

Whilst you're on the subject of tyres though, can I put a cross-ply on the same axel as a radial?

Yes you can BUT not advisable and you should NOT, when I said yes you can i meant that its quite easy to fit the wheel with the tyre on it but i repeat DO NOT DO IT unless its the only way to get you to a tyre place that will fit you the correct tyres

Unless construction and Use regs have changed since I abandoned the UK, it's actually illegal to fit tyres of different construction on the same axle:)

Don't mix tyres
Don't thumb lifts
Never rub another mans rhubarb!
Never tie your shoe laces in a revolving door
Never eat yellow snow

Any more I missed ?
