I'd take a punt at...

EAS Software.........which is free to download + a cable.......for the Air Suspension

and

a generic OBD 11 program with a usb to rs 252 lead............for a V8 and transmission fault codes (maybe)....

That's about it.......

Me thinks......RIP OFF.......

I emailed lynx to ask if there kit did the following
King injector readings
Blend motor calibration
Pump timing modulation
cps readings
Maf of air intake pressure readings
Fuel ajustment and this was the answer I won't be getting one of these units!

RE: Lynx Diagnostics Website - New Message

Hello Joe

Sorry for the delay in responding as I have been away. After speaking to our technical team they have told me that Lynx is unable to do what you ask.

Sorry.

Regards

Richard

You will not get MAF readings on the diesel with any diagnostics that I'm aware of, I don't think the EDC provides that data to diagnostics.

King injector is an odd term, it's the needle lift sensor.

If you have Nanocom and you disconnect the MAF you will get an air flow fault. Because without a MAF reading the EGR cannot function. But you do not get MAF airflow readings on live data, because they are for EGR control and other than for that function, irrelevant to the running of the engine.

One of the errors in RAVE Keith. The engine is throttled by fuel, fuel temperature has an effect on injected quantity as does required RPM. Where is the manifold inlet air temp sensor on the EGR engine?

1. Intake manifold
2. IAT sensor
EGR Modulator valve - Vehicles with EGR
The EGR modulator valve is located in the engine
compartment on the left inner wing near the bulkhead.
The EGR modulator valve is used to control the EGR
valve and is controlled by the ECM. See EMISSION
CONTROL, Description and operation.
Mass air flow sensor (MAF sensor) - Vehicles with
EGR
The MAF sensor is located in the air inlet pipe from
the air cleaner and is connected electrically to the
ECM. The sensor replaces the Air Intake Temperature
(IAT) sensor previously used on Pre-EGR vehicles.
The MAF sensor comprises a hot film sensor which
has a heated surface maintained by an electrical
current at a constant temperature. With cool air
flowing past the sensor, the volume of air drawn into
the intake manifold is measured by the electrical
current required to keep the temperature of the hot
film sensor constant.
The MAF sensor records the amount of incoming air
being drawn into the engine. The ECM uses this
information to control the Exhaust Gas Recirculation
(EGR) process. See EMISSION CONTROL,
Description and operation.

The bloke who wrote that version of RAVE had a bit more idea.

£90 for something that appears to just do the ABS? Better off with a Nanocom that does the lot. Sooner or later you will need it.

Recommend Lynx, does more than most other devices, easy upgrade to any Land Rover, clear view on your laptop and doesn't come with puppies like the nana:)

I seem to recall that there are a few things that the Lynx does not do like re-sync?
Nonocom is not VIN locked and different engines can be added for a modest sum.

Tell us more of what you recall and your experience with Lynx
and the modest fifty pounds unlock fee of Nonocom codes for another P38 (free with Lynx)
or a couple of hundreds for another Land Rover

It can resync a GEMS engine, no idea about the others as I haven't tried to resync any of them. It's not VIN locked and works with any of the engine types though.

It is missing some things though.

I belive its just locked to one model of car...ie Freelander1, or Freelander2, or Disco 1,2,3 etc....... Not VIN locked. so will do any engine and modules within that specific model range.

you can add another model range for around £146 Excl VAT

Lynx Diagnostics - Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.

Looks like Testbook, But wish it was as in depth as VW`s vag com/VDS

It seems pretty good from what ive read?

They dont do a nanacom version for the freelander 1.

Only option from bbs for freelander 1 is the faultmate msv 2 and this is locked to the vin.

Can anyone confirm what output test lynx has on the abs module? does it do power bleed, can you activate each brake in turn etc.

From what I can see freelander 1 only
Wabco only acuators
